Abstract

In the context of nutritional practices due to pathologies, the objective was to verify the influence of nutritional management in pancreatitis in dogs, through a systematic review of literature, a method of medicine and veterinary medicine based on evidence considered level 1. The research was performed in the PubMed, SciELO, LILACS and Medline databases. We found 38 studies, which were evaluated and finally selected 11 to compose the review, as they exclusively discuss the influence of nutrition in dogs with pancreatitis. It was possible to conclude that the correct and early alimentary management positively influences in cases of dogs suffering with pancreatitis, with the use of early enteral nutrition (NEP) and ecoimmunonutrition. However, more studies are needed, especially those with a high degree of recommendation and level of evidence, thus allowing a better treatment for the patient and consequently a better prognosis.
